Abstract (AI)
On the territory of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Russian Old Believers compactly lived in several villages of the Duchy of Bukovina. At the beginning of the 20th century, among them, for a number of reasons, the desire to return to their historical homeland intensifies. This article is devoted to the problem of the resettlement of Austrian Old Believers-Lipovans in the Amur Region in 1908. The revealed sources make it possible to illuminate the insufficiently studied issue in Russian historiography of the question of the resettlement of Lipovans and their placement in the Amur region. The difficulties that the newcomers encountered in their first year on the Amur are analyzed. Resettlement policies highlight both achievements and shortcomings. Part of the study is devoted to studying the role of the All-Russian congresses of the Old Believers of the Belokrinitsky hierarchy and their prominent figures in organizing the resettlement of their foreign co-religionists.
