Background: Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine whose levels are elevated in patients with severe COVID-19. IL-10 polymorphisms may play a role in increasing IL-10 levels and the severity of COVID-19. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between IL-10 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (rs1800896 [−1082 C < T], rs1800871 [−819 A > G], and rs1800872 [−592 T > G]) and the severity of COVID-19 in patients from Kermanshah Province, Iran.
