Aims Use of ticlopidine in coronary stenting is limited by delayed onset of action. We studied the effects of clopidogrel, a rapidly acting analog of ticlopidine alone, and in combination with aspirin, in inhibiting stent thrombosis.
1
Clopidogrel, a rapidly acting analog of ticlopidine, was studied for its effects in inhibiting stent thrombosis in a porcine ex vivo high-shear model.
2
The study evaluated clopidogrel alone and in combination with aspirin to determine their inhibitory effects on stent thrombosis.
3
The work addresses the clinical limitation of ticlopidine’s delayed onset by testing a faster-acting alternative (clopidogrel).
