Abstract (AI)
The review presents analysis of 67 recently published researches, systemic reviews and electronic databases on antituberculosis drugs’ mechanisms of action and mutations associated with or leading to bacterial resistance. The review comprises the data in antibacterials long used ad newly introduced into antituberculosis chemotherapy schemes, as well as new substances considered as perspective antituberculosis drugs.
Key Findings
1
It also examines emerging substances considered promising candidates for future antituberculosis treatment.
2
It analyzes how antituberculosis drugs act and identifies mutations associated with or causing bacterial resistance.
3
The review covers both long-established and newly introduced drugs used in tuberculosis chemotherapy regimens.
4
The review synthesizes findings from 67 recent studies, systematic reviews, and electronic databases on tuberculosis drug resistance mechanisms.
