"Swift fly the years", wrote Alexander Pope. I, for one, feel that 2018, my first full year as Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry-A European Journal, flew swiftly indeed. Looking back, the editorial team has accomplished a lot in 2018: We published nearly 2400 papers, more than 200 of which were Reviews, Minireviews or Concepts. Notwithstanding the growth in submitted and published papers we were able to handle manuscripts rapidly.
