Early Byzantine church at the site of the ancient Gienos (Abkhazia): Latest finds

В статье вводятся в научный оборот некоторые новые данные, полученные в ходе возобновившихся в 2019 г. исследований на античном и раннесредневековом поселении Гиенос (Республика Абхазия, район г. Очамчира). Работы ведутся в непосредственной близости от изученных в 1981, 1983 и 1985 гг. остатков храма второй половины V в. Наиболее любопытными находками являются плинфа с арамейской надписью и фрагмент мраморной капители, относящиеся ко времени строительства храма. The article introduces the new data obtained during the excavations which recommenced in 2019 at the site of the ancient and early medieval settlement of Gienos (near the town of Ochamchira, Republic of Abkhazia). The latest excavation was held in the immediate vicinity of the remains of the church which dates back to the latter half of the 5th century and was previously studied in 1981, 1983 and 1985. The most interesting finds are the plinth brick with an inscription in Aramaic and the fragment of a marble column head. Both of these date back to the 5th century when the church was erected.
