Research on development of digital finance in improving efficiency of tourism resource allocation

Improving the efficiency of resource allocation is of great significance to the sustainable development of tourism. This paper uses Entropy Weight Method (EWM) to measure the composite indexes of tourism resources in 30 provinces (excluding Tibet) in China from 2011 to 2018. Based on the said measurement, the SBM model is used to measure and evaluate the efficiency of tourism resource allocation. Through panel data and the fixed-effects model, this paper empirically tests the impact of the total index and sub-indexes of digital finance on the efficiency of tourism resource allocation and its influencing mechanism from the perspective of digital financial development. The results indicate that both the total index and sub-indexes have positive effects on improving the efficiency of tourism resource allocation. Statistically speaking, the total index, the development degree of digital financial, and digital insurance indexes have a remarkable influence on the improvement. In addition, instrumental variables and robustness tests are consistent with the aforementioned conclusions. In the end, this paper verifies that digital finance improves the efficiency of tourism resource allocation by promoting the demand for tourism consumption and optimizing the supply of tourism factors.
