Over a period of 14 years, Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited (“Star Deep”), a Chevron company, has acquired 4 Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) surveys over the Agbami field. The primary focus being reservoir surveillance, this approach has been very successful with a significant impact on development plans and strategy. Through collaboration with Chevron Technology Centre opportunities to improve acquisition efficiency whilst maintaining this primary objective of reservoir surveillance was actively pursued. Here we present the evolution of the acquisition designs and processing, the impacts and results.
1
Acquisition designs and processing evolved over the program to improve efficiency while maintaining surveillance objectives.
2
Collaboration with Chevron Technology Centre enabled opportunities to enhance acquisition efficiency without compromising reservoir monitoring.
3
Four OBN surveys were acquired over the Agbami field across 14 years for reservoir surveillance.
4
OBN-based reservoir surveillance had significant impact on Agbami field development plans and strategy.
