Abstract (AI)
The Editors have retracted this article at the Authors’ request. After publication, concerns were raised regarding the tumour burden in some mice in the control arms of the experiments presented in Fig. 4b (NPPO1-NE, NPPO-4, NPPO-6, and MSKPCa10 grafts) and Fig. 5j (WCM1262 grafts). The authors have shared the underlying tumour measurement and mouse bodyweight data, which confirmed that animal welfare protocols were breached. An investigation by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at Columbia University Irving Medical Center found that these experiments were not compliant with protocol endpoints. The authors regret this failure to adhere to the highest standards of animal experimentation. No other experimental data or analyses have been affected by the issues underlying the investigation or retraction.
Key Findings
1
An Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee investigation at Columbia University Irving Medical Center found the cited experiments did not comply with approved protocols.
2
Concerns were raised about excessive tumour burden in control-arm mice for specific experiments (Fig. 4b: NPPO1-NE, NPPO-4, NPPO-6, MSKPCa10; Fig. 5j: WCM1262).
3
The article titled 'NSD2 targeting reverses plasticity and drug resistance in prostate cancer' has been retracted at the authors' request.
4
The authors state no other experimental data or analyses were affected by the issues leading to the investigation and retraction.
5
Underlying tumour measurement and mouse bodyweight data confirmed breaches of animal welfare protocols and noncompliance with protocol endpoints.
