The article reflects the results of the research — a complex concept of the institution of “marriage” in the law of Turkey is established, its content is analysed and the peculiarities of different types of marriage are highlighted. For this purpose the legislative norms regulating the institute, as well as doctrinal positions of scientists were studied. In addition, the article considers the general humanistic and conservative features of the institution of “marriage” in Turkish law. In the course of the work the method of analysis was used to study legal norms, comparative-legal method to find out the correlation of different types of marriage, as well as dialectical method to study the concept of “marriage”.
