Calendula officinaliscalendasaponins A–Dionone glucosidesofficinosides A–Dsesquiterpene oligoglycosides
Following the characterization of hypoglycemic, gastric emptying inhibitory, and gastroprotective principles and the structure elucidation of calendasaponins A, B, C, and D, two new ionone glucosides (officinosides A and B), and two sesquiterpene oligoglycosides (officinosides C and D), were isolated from the flowers of Egyptian Calendula officinalis. The structures of the officinosides were elucidated on the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence.
1
Structures of the four officinosides were elucidated using chemical and physicochemical evidence.
2
These isolates follow prior characterization of hypoglycemic, gastric emptying inhibitory, and gastroprotective principles and previously elucidated calendasaponins A–D.
3
Two new ionone glucosides, officinosides A and B, were isolated from Egyptian Calendula officinalis flowers.
4
Two new sesquiterpene oligoglycosides, officinosides C and D, were isolated from Egyptian Calendula officinalis flowers.
