Abstract (AI)
The article presents the fundamental ideas of Russian historical polonistics of the 19th - early 20th centuries as refracted in the works of V.O. Kluchevsky. The scientist's evaluative approaches to the history of Poland combined the recognition of the fundamental ideas of Russian historical polonistics, conservative and Slavophile in essence, and a departure from them to liberal-Westernist positions. In this context, the historian's scientific heritage has not been studied and no special comprehensive historiographic research has been carried out on this issue.

2
The abstract states that Klyuchevsky’s scholarly legacy in this area had not previously received a dedicated, comprehensive historiographical study.
3
The article examines how fundamental ideas of Russian historical Polonistics from the nineteenth to early twentieth centuries were refracted in V.O. Klyuchevsky’s works.
4
The study identifies an ideological tension in Klyuchevsky’s interpretation of Poland between inherited Russian historiographical concepts and liberal-Westernist departures from them.
