The authors study nonlinear Compton scattering of laser pulses linearly chirped in the spectral domain and show that using optimal chirp parameter leads to a higher photon peak in the scattering spectrum. Applying catastrophe theory, it is possible to find the optimal chirp value analytically.
1
An optimal chirp parameter exists that maximizes photon peak density in the scattering spectrum
2
Catastrophe theory can be applied to analytically determine the optimal chirp value for maximizing photon emission
3
Linearly chirping laser pulses in the spectral domain increases the photon peak in nonlinear Compton scattering spectra when an optimal chirp parameter is used
