Herein, we describe the synthesis of novel 2,2':6',2''-terpyridines with directly linked benzimidazole moieties. Owing to the unique structural and electronic properties, these compounds are of great interest as ligands for transition metals for wide range of applications. The structure of the synthesized terpyridines was characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and high-resolution mass spectrometry.
