BERDIBEK SOKPAKBAYEV'S CREATIVITY IN THE FIELD OF CHILDREN'S LITERATURE (1924-1991)

The article, dedicated to the work of Berdibek Sokpakbayev, examines the key aspects of the works of the famous Kazakh writer, who has become a classic of children's literature in Kazakhstan. The article focuses on a realistic and sincere depiction of childhood, a reflection of Kazakh life and national traditions. Central to the discussion is his best-known story, “My Name is Kozha” which explores themes of friendship, responsibility, and self-discovery through the protagonist’s stories. More serious issues are also touched upon, such as raising youth, relationships between generations and the search for the meaning of life. Sokpakbayev’s works are still relevant among readers to this day, significant for modern Kazakh literature and have a huge influence on the formation of moral values of the younger generation.
