The rapid advancement of smart home technologies has created new opportunities for biohacking, an interdisciplinary field focused on optimizing human biology and psychology through intentional environmental and lifestyle modifications. While biohacking encompasses a wide range of strategies, including nutrition, supplementation, and wearable health technology, the role of smart home systems in enhancing physiological and cognitive functions remains underexplored. This review examines the integration of smart home innovations, such as circadian lighting, chromotherapy, air and water purification, ergonomic furniture, acoustic optimization, health monitoring systems, and biophilic design, within biohacking environments. Circadian-aligned lighting has been shown to regulate sleep-wake cycles, chromotherapy influences cognitive and emotional well-being, and integrated health tracking devices enable real-time physiological monitoring. Additionally, ergonomic and noise-reducing solutions contribute to improved productivity and stress management, while biophilic elements create restorative indoor environments. Despite the potential benefits, more research is necessary to clarify how these interventions influence personalized health improvement over extended periods. By synthesizing current evidence and identifying emerging trends, this review highlights the necessity of smart home integration in biohacking practices and calls for continued interdisciplinary research to maximize the potential of these technologies.
