Abstract (AI)
In order to achieve zero torque of the motor during charging process and to make the motor winding filter directly satisfy the requirements of grid harmonic filtering, this article proposes a new integrated on-board battery charger (IOBC) incorporating a segmented permanent magnet synchronous motor. It integrates three-phase, single-phase, and boost charging functions into a single topology, enhancing charging convenience. The charger employs series winding filters for grid harmonic suppression, resulting in an increase in grid-side filter inductance by a factor of 4.5 in comparison to the existing IOBC solutions. It offers ac charging functionality while maintaining unity power factor with a total harmonic distortion below 5%. These objectives are achieved by employing simple three-phase and single-phase control strategies. Simulation and experimental results are provided to evaluate the performance of the proposed system.
