Abstract (AI)
Abstract The Mössbauer resonance absorption is measured in various silicates containing iron. The observed isomeric shifts are in accordance with the interpretation of WALKER . Even for Fe 3+ ions, large quadrupole splittings are found. The analysis of the spectrum of tourmaline is similar to that of biotite.
