Research development of ultra-high temperature ceramics

Ultra-high temperature ceramics (UHTCs) have excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties and are currently a hot research topic worldwide, but there are still many problems to be solved. It can improve oxidation resistance, reduce expansion, and strengthen mechanical properties. The research status of ultra-high temperature ceramic materials is reviewed, and the manufacturing process of ultra-high temperature ceramic materials, such as ZrB2, SiC, and BN, as well as the research status of composite materials are emphasized. Its applications in the aerospace, energy, and chemical industries are also discussed. Therefore, enhancing the service capability of UHTCs at higher temperatures and conducting in-depth research and development on them is crucial.
