Abstract (AI)
Multiple-choice tests are becoming more and more common in physics classes. In the construction of such tests, attention to certain details will minimize the effects of random guessing. In addition, it has been found that for the majority of students, when a reasonable number of tests are given on a schedule throughout the semester the cumulative grade from such tests can provide essentially the same information as would hand-graded problems.
