Abstract This chapter outlines Sessions 3 through 6, detailing strategies for managing tic symptoms effectively. These sessions begin by reviewing the previous week’s events, updating the tic hierarchy, and discussing homework compliance while emphasizing positive reinforcement. Habit reversal training (HRT) is introduced for new tics. The therapist, parents, and client revisit previously implemented function-based interventions, and strategies are modified to ensure their success. In Sessions 4 and 5, the treatment program incorporates relaxation training and the therapist teaches diaphragmatic breathing and progressive muscle relaxation to help clients manage stress and reduce tic exacerbations. Homework involves practicing competing responses, monitoring tics, implementing function-based interventions, and applying relaxation techniques in stressful situations.
