scid.ai Terms of Use

1. General terms

1.1. These Terms govern use of the scid.ai digital platform, including its website, workspaces, public pages, AI features, library, graphs, digests and related communication channels.

1.2. The platform operator is ARTICLE LLC (ООО «АРТИКЛ», the “Operator”). A User is an individual or an authorised representative of an organisation who uses scid.ai.

1.3. By creating an account, confirming acceptance in the interface or continuing to use a relevant feature after reviewing the applicable documents, the User accepts these Terms, the Privacy Policy and, for paid products, the Public Offer.

1.4. The User must have the legal capacity and authority required for the intended use. A person using scid.ai for an organisation confirms that they may act for that organisation.

1.5. Where a feature operates through a third-party platform or infrastructure, including Telegram, email, payment or AI providers, that provider's rules also apply to the extent they do not conflict with Russian law or these Terms.

2. Features and accounts

2.1. scid.ai is a research platform. Depending on availability and the selected plan, its features may include:

• search for scientific publications by DOI, SCID identifier and natural-language query;
• AI answers, source comparison, literature reviews, reports and other research documents;
• citation and research graphs with interactive nodes and relationships;
• a library of uploaded files, favourites, material groups, work history and link-based sharing;
• personal topics and scientific digests delivered through email or Telegram.

2.2. Feature availability depends on the interface, plan, region, technical readiness and connected providers. A feature described in these Terms is not guaranteed to be available to every User.

2.3. The User must provide accurate account information, protect login methods and promptly report suspected unauthorised access.

2.4. Actions completed after successful authentication are treated as actions of the account holder until the Operator receives a substantiated compromise report.

3. Credits and plans

3.1. A credit is an internal scid.ai accounting unit used to measure resource-intensive features. Credits are not money, electronic money, securities or independently transferable property.

3.2. Credits are debited according to actual computational use. The final debit may depend on prompt size, the number and size of sources, selected mode, generated output and other processing parameters.

Free — 700 credits once

A one-time starter pool is granted after a new Free account is activated. Creating accounts to bypass this rule is prohibited.

Paid plans — pool for the paid period

After payment is confirmed, the published credit pool for the selected plan is credited. The pool size and access period are shown before purchase.

Additional top-up

If top-ups are available, the purchased pool size and price are disclosed before payment confirmation.

Plan change

Where a change is available, the interface shows the new plan and payment. Supported change directions and balance treatment follow the offer actually made available.

3.3. The current balance is shown in the account. A pre-operation estimate, if provided, is indicative; the debit reflects processing actually completed.

3.4. Paid pool sizes, prices, billing periods, top-up availability and plan-change terms are defined by the offer displayed before confirmation. These Terms do not create undisclosed amounts or formulas.

3.5. If the balance is insufficient, scid.ai may decline to start the operation, offer a less resource-intensive mode or stop further processing. Payment and renewal are governed by the Public Offer.

4. Acceptable use

4.1. scid.ai may be used for research, education, information and lawful professional purposes.

4.2. The User must not:

• violate law, third-party rights, licence terms or confidentiality obligations;
• bypass credit accounting, plan restrictions, authentication, security or technical controls;
• create excessive automated load, scrape data outside the supplied interface or disrupt the platform;
• distribute malware, spam, phishing, deceptive content, harassment or discrimination;
• present generated material as verified expertise, original source text or human work when doing so misleads others;
• use multiple accounts or other methods to obtain the one-time Free pool repeatedly.

5. User materials

5.1. A User may submit prompts, messages, files, collections, comments and other materials. The User retains their rights and is responsible for lawful submission and use.

5.2. The User grants the Operator a limited right to process submitted materials as required for the selected feature, including storage, text extraction, indexing, analysis, output generation, export and access for people to whom the User provides a sharing link.

5.3. Materials must not be uploaded without the necessary rights or legal basis. This includes confidential documents, third-party personal data and protected content.

5.4. A public link may make an output or collection available to anyone who receives it. The User must review the materials before sharing and disable access when it is no longer required.

6. AI features and scientific sources

6.1. AI answers, search, classification, graphs, summaries, translations, reviews and documents are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, incorrect relationships or inaccurate references.

6.2. scid.ai supports source-based work but does not replace reading original publications or checking DOI records, quotations, methods, statistics and context.

6.3. Platform materials are not official scientific review or legal, medical, investment or other professional advice. The User must verify primary sources and consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

6.4. Metadata, full text and external links depend on scientific databases, publishers, rights holders and other external services.

7. Community and moderation

7.1. The Operator may use automated and human moderation, limit visibility or remove materials, and temporarily or permanently restrict access where documents, law, third-party rights or community safety are violated.

7.2. A subscription or credit balance does not exempt a User from community rules and does not guarantee retention of non-compliant material.

8. Intellectual property

8.1. Rights in scid.ai code, interface, brand elements and original materials belong to the Operator or its licensors.

8.2. Rights in scientific articles, images, files, metadata and other third-party materials belong to their respective rights holders. Display in scid.ai does not grant additional rights.

8.3. A generated result may be used subject to law, rights in source materials and source terms. The Operator does not guarantee that an automatically generated result is unique.

9. Access, suspension and changes

9.1. The platform is provided within its currently available functionality. The Operator may update interfaces, models, providers, features and technical limits.

9.2. Access may be temporarily restricted for maintenance, security, legal compliance or incident response. Material violations may lead to suspension or termination.

9.3. A new edition of these Terms is published on this page. Separate consent will be requested where required by law or the nature of the feature.

9.4. The User may stop using scid.ai at any time. Personal-data requests, including access, correction, restriction or deletion, are handled under the procedures and time limits in the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

10. Liability

10.1. The parties are liable under these Terms and mandatory Russian law.

10.2. The Operator is not responsible for external resources, User conduct, access loss caused by the User, or decisions made without checking automatically generated outputs.

10.3. Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer rights or Operator liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Governing law and contact

11.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Russian Federation. Disputes are resolved under mandatory applicable rules; the parties may first seek resolution by email.

11.2. A support request or claim may be sent to info@scid.ai. Contacting the Operator by email does not limit any other remedy available to the User under law.
